Bartending & Flash/Flair Instructor

Mike got his first break when he turned 21 working part time as a bar back in downtown San Diego . He grasped everything really quick, and started to tend bar. Although he was able to mix drinks and deal with the guests, he desired a greater knowledge to work in a high volume setting. The lead bartender was teaching at the Academy and convinced him to take the course. Once he graduated (with flying colors!), he had a much better knowledge of his craft and found his career calling.

Having a true passion for bartending, Mike has furthered his skills by studying flash/flair from one of San Diego's most well known instructors and continues to perfect his craft. Wanting to share his passion for bartending with anyone willing to learn, the Academy promptly hired him as our lead bartending instructor. He also teaches our Flash/Flair course.

Mike has worked at the V-lounge, a specialty bar at Viejas Casino, among others and was recently contacted by the owner of a new bar that had seen him bartend in the past and asked Mike to help him get his bar off the ground. He's currently working for the Liar's Club and says he enjoys every minute that he's behind the bar-either teaching or working.
